Lightraiders

DragonRaid Roleplaying Game
An adventure learning system
for the purpose of building
warriors for spiritual battles.
I am delighted to announce that I have partnered with award winning author and owner of XPC Media, James R. Hannibal, to produce all new adventures for the DragonRaid tabletop roleplaying game from 1984. DragonRaid is a distinctly Christian game with the goal of building warriors for spiritual battles and learning all about the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, the Armor of God, and Scriptural truth. You don't have to be a Christian or even know much about Christianity to enjoy playing DragonRaid, but you will learn quite a bit about the teachings of the Bible in your adventures!

Why is this page called Lightraiders? The Lightraider Order began as a community of knights in the Liberated Land of Talania. Their headquarters is a mountain fortress called Ras Telesar, better known as Lightraider Academy.

In the DragonRaid roleplaying game, Lightraiders are trained at the Academy and sent out on missions into the Dragon Lands to battle dark creatures and dragons and to share the Rescuer's message of friendship with the Aladoth peoples.

You can learn more about the Lightraiders and the DragonRaid RPG by visiting the website www.lightraiders.com.

On the website, you can shop in the store and order a 1980's vintage copy of the DragonRaid Boxed Starter Set for an amazing price of $35.99, as well as additional adventures, StarLots Dice Sets, a
dice tower, and more to supplement the game.

Behind the scenes, we are working on additional products for future release. You will hear more about these as we are able to announce them.

This page will develop over time as I get the opportunity to add more links to free resources that I have worked on.

Rescue At The Giant's Keep

The team is sent to rescue a lightraider held captive in a giant’s keep on the Serpent’s Head Peninsula. They must remain steadfast in their mission through several situations that test their self-control. A failure in each test will result in a time “penalty” applied during the Giant Game at the end of the adventure.

The Cave Of Despair: Part One

A warm spring day takes an unexpected turn into cold gray as the lightraiders are called from their training at Ras Telesar (Lightraider Academy) to the miserable Gloomy Forest in the Eagle Peaks region of the Dragon Lands. Master Carthia has tasked them with rescuing some precious talking animals that are missing and rumored to be held prisoner in a dungeon cave, including Featherking, one of the Rescuer’s most beautiful messenger eagles.

The lightraiders face many perils in the forest before meeting a rich Aladoth (Onceborn) couple who shows them great hospitality in their home. When their disturbed son enters a fit of rage over a map, the lightraiders are asked to intervene and save him after he runs into the woods having threatened to report his parents to the dark creatures at the cave prison. Part One ends with a dramatic rescue attempt, followed by the lightraiders being chased into the cave entrance by a large band of dark creatures.

Having rescued a young man named Longinus from the grip of darkness, the lightraiders are chased into a cave fortress in the heart of the Gloomy Forest (Sil Belom in the Elder Tongue) by a band of mounted coal orcs. This same dungeon imprisons Featherking the talking eagle, and his companions Archer the white tailed deer and Silvestrano the deer mouse. Master Carthia spoke of their importance in the Rescuer’s plans and tasked the lightraiders with their rescue. Though outwardly it seems the lightraiders have fallen into grave danger, they are exactly where they need to be—in the center of the Rescuer’s will—truly and always the safest place to be.

In the complex, the lightraiders must survive the traps and enemies, free the talking animals, and ultimately confront the dragon lord of the Sil Belom. If they escape, their adventure becomes a heart pounding race to save as many Aladoth as they can before they are killed in the Reckoning, the dragon’s purge. The talking animals assist in presenting the Great Rescue and breaking the chains of guilt in the heart of anyone who will listen.

Once the mission is complete, the lightraiders say their goodbyes and return to Ras Telesar where Master Carthia presents their rewards and offers up the next assignment.
